01Recognition & diagnosis
OPA alerts prompt assessment. Consider suspected infection, acute organ dysfunction and baseline values. A partial SOFA score cannot exclude sepsis.
02The first-hour workflow
Bedside assessment, lactate, blood cultures, appropriate antibiotics and source evaluation. Coordinate care without delaying treatment.
03Reassessment
In this draft: repeat lactate if initial value is ≥2 mmol/L within 6 hours. Monitor BP, fluid needs and deterioration; hand off pending tasks.
04Recovery & discharge
Discuss sepsis/PSS, provide written AVS education, and arrange follow-up and return precautions.
